Experience the Heart of Community Worship

At Sikh Gurdwara South London, we take pride in offering a sanctuary that caters to the spiritual and communal needs of our congregation.

Our Diwan Sahib is a serene Prayer Hall, a sacred space thoughtfully designed to accommodate up to 450 worshippers. Like all Gurdwaras, we sit on the floor, with benches installed for those unable to sit on the floor.

Our Langar Hall is informal and functional, featuring versatile seating and standing arrangements that promote close connection and fellowship among attendees.  Partake in the wholesome Langar, simple vegetarian meals prepared in our fully equipped catering kitchen.

Langar meals are lovingly prepared and served by our Sewadaars (Volunteers) in a true testament to the communal spirit and the tradition of sharing started by Sikhi's founder Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the 15th Century.

Worship in the Diwan Sahib (Prayer Hall)

Our Diwan Sahib is not just a prayer hall; it is a welcoming abode of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, a sanctuary where spirituality and tradition are intervowen. With its capacity to host up to 450 worshippers, the hall is equipped with a modern sound system, contemporary lighting, air conditioning and technology for live streaming of our services. Live Gurbani explanation and translation screens in the Diwan Sahib are indicative of our inclusiveness for young and old, Sikhs and non-Sikhs. Benches are installed at the back for those not able to sit on the floor.

We encourage visitors to turn off mobile phones, step inside and be surrounded by a sense of peace that encourages reflection, worship, and collective devotion. There is a space to remove your shoes and we provide scarves for you to cover your head in reverence for the Guru Granth Sahib.

Share in the Guru's meals

Our Langar Hall (Dining Hall) is a functional space designed for sharing communal meals, promoting inclusivity, togetherness and equality of status. With adaptable seating arrangements, the hall has capacity for up to 200 (seated) or 350 (standing). Join us in this nurturing environment where simple vegetarian Langar not only nourishes the body but also strengthens bonds within our community.

In addition to our Sangat, we encourage and welcome local residents to join in our services and share in the Langar.

We also have a large outside Patio area to the back of the Langar Hall, which can accommodate a marquee as an overspill dining area for special occasions like Weddings.

Langar Preparation with Love & Devotion

At the heart of our Gurdwara lies our fully equipped kitchen which enables the seamless preparation of Guru ka Langar. The kitchen is staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers committed to delivering high-quality Langar meals that embody love and service.

The efficient layout and professional catering equipment allow us to prepare large quantities of food. Our food hygiene procedures and cleanliness are scrupulous and highly rated by the local council.

Visitors are encouraged to join in Sewa and help in preparing and serving Langar, and washing and cleaning if they wish to do so.
